Sometimes things are just messed up ... and sometimes it's a deal

Like not having any cash. There's nothing much worse, especially with all the sales going on in the Poser world.

But maybe you guys can help me out, and help yourselves as well. At least a couple of you anyway.

I have for sale 1 boxed copy of Shade 7 Standard
and Mojoworld 2.0 . I have necessary permissions to sell these from E-Frontier and Pandromeda, so the license can be transferred. The Shade product has never been used for an upgrade, so you can purchase Shade 8. Mojo hasn't either.

There is a license transfer form for Shade, which I will happily fill out and submit. Mojo, I just have to contact Calyxa at Pandromeda and she will update their database.

Now ... how much to charge for these marvelous products ? Shade 8 Standard now sells for $199, the upgrade from Shade 7 is $99 ... so, I think a fair price would be around $7o including shipping. That will still get you into the upgrade for $30 less than if you just went out and bought the whole shebang. Remember, this is the boxed version ... comes with reference guide and manual. So even if you don't upgrade it, you still get the program for less than $70.

Mojoworld 2.0 is the manual and CD ... it came that way ... no box. I'll let that go to some lucky person for $50 including shipping.

Now, yo may ask yourself why I'm selling these. Simple ... the cash, plus
I can't get my head into modeling at all. Mojoworld ... I already have Vue and Bryce ... I'm just too overwhelmed to learn all this stuff ... plus I have Painter, PSP, DS, Expression 3, Poser 6, and a bunch of other stuff that I need to get better at.

OK .. if you want to buy this stuff, email me at davidso1@charter.net ... you can pay via PAyPAl [preferred] using the same email ... or a money order can be sent. USA only. I will send back address if its via money order, but I'm looking to get some quick cash, so Paypal would be the preferred method.

SPECIAL
If you would like to get into woodworking, I have a Shopsmith Mark V that I will sell to you :)
Its in great shape, not used hardly at all .... email me for details. A new one with all the stuff ""I have costs nearly $4000 .. I will sell mine for $1700.... plus shipping. Its heavy and big, so it will probably cost $100 plus for freight. Just think of all the Poser stuff I could buy with $1700 !!!!
http://www.shopsmith.com/markvsite/index.htm it also comes with a scroll saw, dust collection system, all the tools needed, manuals, and I'll throw in some scroll saw and other woodworking books. The scrollsaw is grey instead of this blue, but otherwise the same

Be sure to cover those " NAUGHTY PLACES "

Naughty my ass. What's wrong with the people in this country. I'm talking about the good ol' USA. Land of the FREE, home of the brave. Can't even post a picture of a breast without getting wacked by the thought police.

Take DAZ for example ... you can't even show a nipple in that place. EDIT-- I was informed you can show nipples in the DAZ forum as long as the NUDITY box is checked ... that sounds fair to me, but the point still stands in the Galleries. DAZ isn't the only place where this occurs, there are more forums, they are but the example as it was their site that stirred me up ... read this thread posted there. it was the frosting ....
http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=25859

What's amazing, most of the thought that goes into this censorship is based on Christian attitudes ... you know, the home of the God that made man and women in his likeness. Of course we need to cover ourselves so we don't show those naughty spots....you know, the spots that we all have, or not...the nipples, and genitals. The most natural thing about man is his nudity and reproduction. Its a NATURAL state of affairs, not something that is BAD !!! God must be pissed that he made us in his likeness and we're afraid of showing any of his creation. We have to cover all that stuff up. It's BAD !!! BAD stuff.

Little boys and girls have all seen it since birth. Why not explain to them the beauty of it all, instead of introducing them to the forbidden fruit theory and putting them mentally into a guilt trip for the rest of their lives. Or, as happens most often, they sneak around looking and playing with each others genitals, having covert sex when mom and dad are gone, or behind the barn someplace, then little purity runs off to have an abortion. Yep...mighty fine things we teach our kids.

Open up and get real already, you prudes.
Naughty places ...

The Importance

I've been going through my "stuff", over the last couple of years. One of the things I'm finally beginning to realize, and perhaps its starting to really sink in, is the fact all this "stuff", is for the most part, meaningless.

Other than the things given to me by loved ones and friends ... those hold the most meaning by far ... the rest is just fluff, and quite frankly, why do I acquire all of this.

I was a gamer for a long time, and I accumulated just tons of games, computer hardware and all that goes with it. Now I'm wondering why...yes, it was fun at the time, but you can't even begin to use all of it in several normal lifetimes, unless someone finally comes up with that eternal life pill. And now, guess what ... its all sitting in boxes doing nothing but collecting dust.

the stuff that really makes me feel good are the simple things, like having family around, looking at their pictures, seeing them.
maybe I'm getting sentimental in my older age... the finality of the realization I'm seeing everybody I've known slowly parting from the Earth.

Is that great new car all that important when you maybe should spend the cash to go and visit a brother that you haven't seen in 5 years? Or maybe the aunt that helped you out in a pickle or baked some great bread on a Saturday afternoon .... and invited you over for some peanut butter on fresh baked... yes those are the important things ... and then she dies and you haven't seen her in 10 years .... hmmmmmmmmmmmm ....

Walking on the beach ... seeing the surf ... the birds flying ... the sounds ... kids having fun playing in the water. ... as the ad goes ... priceless.

Walking through the woods ... bugs, birds, and bees.
Leaves crunching under your feet in the fall....
the colors ... the smells ... babbling brooks, you can see the fish swimming around, little water bugs flitting on the surface.
The little clear deep pools with the shiney rocks deep down....

LOOK UP !!!! the deep blues and beautiful fluffy white clouds. Zoom ... a flock of geese honking.

Fresh vegetables, carrots, peas, sweet corn. The farmer plowing his field.
Horses running in the pasteur. Cows slowly chewing, contemplating their next walk to the pond.

Yes, its simple and doesn't cost a thing. Why all this importance on acquiring materialistic stuff. All of it passes away.... you're gone, and then what does it matter. The point is to spend the time with the Earth ... your friends .. and your loved ones. That is the key to why we are here on Earth. We always ask that question ... why are we here. I do not think its to acquire worldy goods ... I think it is to make a difference in someone's life ... to care ... to help ... to be unselfish in your life. giving.

My brother-in-law made the point of using an old phrase just prior to his passing .... at the young age of 35 ...
" stop and smell the roses"

We're all caught up in this hectic life style, much of it concerned with earning a lot of money to buy stuff. I found when living in Puerto Rico, that the people out in the country, many of whom were living in basic shelters with dirt floors, no plumbing or sewer systems, were very happy with what they had.

The town I've just recently moved to has a lot of people yearning for more .. to move to the big city, dazzling lights, the fast life... malls, stores, car lots... beautiful people like you see on the soaps. So much trivial meaning. It is not what is important.

Now ... can I fulfill my destiny ....
I must start ... to change ... to become what I have seen I must do.

I'm turning into a Poser fashion whore

Not sure what to really say or think about this. I love to look at women. As a man, that's a good thing, other than the fact my wife gets a bit peeved, but it does allow me the satisfaction of knowing I'm still appreciating the female form :)

Now, as a Poser user, I find myself looking at and buying, or wishing I could buy, all these cool new clothing items for Victoria 3, Stephanie Petite, and the rest. Some of them are extremely sexy. The poses available are extremely sexy as well.

BUT ... I'm a man, what the HELL am I doing looking at and buying these clothing items and dressing some 3D model, mesh looking woman ? Girls are supposed to play with Barbie, not men. What is going on here? I'm starting to wonder if I have something loose in my head.

Am I a pervert for sexily dressed up 3D mesh women ????
Is this some kind of sexual fantasy that I know I can't have? (you know, I'm a fat old guy with no money) .
What is it that's drawing me into this? I'm really not understanding. I should be out guzzling beer with the guys, shooting at bambi, catching helpless fish down by the bridge, or playing poker, pool, or some other manly pastime, you know, rebuilding cars, carpentry work, stuff like that.

But no, I'm buying dresses and lingerie for Victoria and dressing her up...then posing her....and rendering her. What is up with that ????

Poser Content ... Damn, how much do we need ?

If you're like most Poser users that really catch the bug, you're running around downloading every free item that you come across.
Not only that, you frequent all the stores. It's worse than mall fever....hit DAZ, RDNA, Renderosity, Poser Pros, Content Paradise, 3D Commune, Vanishing Point and a hundred other sorta independent merchants...oh yeah...PoserProducts, Sixus 1, .... anyway, you get the point.

How much cash are we spending on this stuff? Poser comes with its standard content, for whatever reason, is hardly supported. You have to go out and buy Mike, Vicky, and the other anime and toon characters...then you have to buy clothes for them. Its worse than dressing Barbie and Ken. These guys have more damn clothes than I've purchased for myself in 40 years, and they cost about the same.

The part that is strange, unless you're a production house with time constraints, a lot of us are hobbyists or wannabees. We started out getting Poser and maybe a 3D modeling app, and a paint program ...with the intent of learning 3D graphics, some modeling, do our own textures, and create images.
All of a sudden, we're caught up in Poser content fever ... buy buy buy....our credits cards are full. We join DAZ and their Platinum Club to get discounts, and some real inexpensive content....oh yes..the almighty $5 voucher every month. Its worse than cutting out the coupons in the Sunday paper.

I've got so much stuff on my hard drive, that 90% of it has never been extracted from its zip folder. Gigs and gigs of Poser runtimes....yes.. RUNTIMES..plural...
What to do with it all ? Well, you do need diversity.... but gigs worth of diversity??

So what do you think?
Is it all necessary?
I will say its a fun hobby, in my case, but an expensive one.

Wardrobe Wizard by PhilC and Kamilche

A quick blurb on a great product that you should check out.

You own Mike 3, Victoria 3, Stephanie Petite, Apollo Maximus, and 30 other figures....and now you need clothes for all these fine folks. Well now you can save a few bucks by converting clothing from one character to fit others.

This is a pretty darn good product overall. You sometimes lose a bit in the details when converting, but gives respectable results. Customer support is second to none...Phil is awesome and seems to be everywhere answering questions. Plus the updates that were needed early on during beta and initial release were handled extremely fast. There are around 60 figures now supported, with additional figures being added.

Welcome to my new blog

Welcome to my new blog. Be sure to leave a comment.
Now why another blog?

why not?
Everyone else has one nowadays. Hopefully I will be able to comment on some of the hot posts in our favorite sites, such as Renderosity, DAZ, RDNA, and so forth. Review some stuff. Comment on new items in our favorite stores. Throw a few props and dis where it needs to be. And I'm not holding back.

Merchants...if you have a hot new product, or especially a FREE item. by all means let me know and I'll throw a comment up for you...but it better be hot, especially the pay for ones...I don't want to mention any crap, and believe me, there's plenty of it. Maybe you will give me a copy for review...

So, here we go... day one.
